This program gives parents the opportunity to provide supervised care for their child kindergarten through 5th grade. In some cases, students may ride the LCPS bus to Open Arms while others may be transported on Open Arms busses. Once they arrive students have a snack and spend time socializing with friends. Children who have homework are provided time to complete their work with adult assistance, if necessary. During this time, other children are engaged in quieter center activities such as arts and crafts, theme activities, engineering and construction activities, science investigations, games, or use of the Technology Lab. Later, students are provided time to move around through structured games on our black top area or allowed to create their own activities on our playground and in the Big Room.
